Why do wealthy people spend a lot of their time golfing?

Jen asked:

Why do most of them feel the need to join a membership at the local private country club? Is it a rule that when you have money you must be superior in public and play boring sports?

boring is a matter of taste. Actually, not all people who play golf are wealthy. That is why the wealth join private clubs so that don’t have to rub elbows with us trash.

Because a lot of golf places have membership fees, which are pricey. You get to rub elbows with other rich people, and not have poor people around. A lot of business is conducted on golf courses, and golf courses also cater to rich people, so they feel good going there.
Like spas…the are expensive, they cater to you, and you get to hang around a lot of other people with money. Rich people don’t wanna hang around poor people, they would feel more comfortable with people of thier own status.
